# SkyyRose Social — YouTube Strategy
## When to Use This Skill
- Planning SkyyRose's YouTube channel from the ground up
- Defining content pillars and upload cadence that match production capacity
- Building thumbnail and title guidelines that maintain SkyyRose's visual identity
- Mapping the first 10 videos before the channel launches
- Creating a 6-month roadmap from zero to brand-authority channel
**DO NOT** use this skill for writing individual TikTok or Instagram Reels scripts (use `skyyrose-social-tiktok-script` and `skyyrose-social-short-form-video-plan`). YouTube is long-form brand authority. This is channel-level strategy, not individual video scripts.
---
## Brand Canon (non-negotiable)
- **Tagline verbatim:** `Luxury Grows from Concrete.` Use in channel description, About page, and end-card of every video.
- **Oakland-first:** Channel identity is rooted in The Town. Bay Area acceptable; Oakland is the anchor. Never "West Coast streetwear" as the primary descriptor when "Oakland" is available and accurate.
- **The Five visual references only:** Thumbnails, B-roll mood, and production aesthetic draw from Kith · Oaklandish · Culture Kings · Fear of God · Palm Angels. No European luxury-house editorial framing.
- **Corey is the protagonist, not just a face.** YouTube rewards founder-voice authenticity. Corey's earned, direct, Oakland register is the channel's competitive advantage. Do not produce a "brand channel" — produce Corey's channel, with SkyyRose as the subject.
- **No hype-merchant energy.** No "SUBSCRIBE NOW!!! 🔥🔥" end-card copy. CTA language is direct and specific: "Watch the collection walkthrough next" or "Pre-order link in description."

## Phase 1: Brief
### Required Inputs
| Input | What to Confirm | Default |
|-------|----------------|---------|
| **Primary goal** | Brand authority, skyyrose.co traffic, community growth, or ad revenue? | Brand authority + direct sales |
| **Production capacity** | How many videos per month can be shot and edited? | 2-4 per month |
| **On-camera availability** | Is Corey available for talking-head content? How often? | Periodic — confirm per quarter |
| **Existing audience** | Do IG or TikTok audiences know a YouTube channel is coming? | Cross-promote on launch |
| **Existing video assets** | Any existing TikToks or Reels that could be repurposed as Shorts? | Yes — use as Shorts fuel |
**GATE: Confirm brief before building strategy. If production capacity is under 2 videos/month, recommend YouTube Shorts-first strategy until capacity increases.**
---
## Phase 2: Outline
```
1. Channel Positioning — niche, identity, value prop
2. Content Pillars — 4 video categories with upload ratios
3. Upload Schedule — cadence and best publish times (PST)
4. Title & Thumbnail System — SkyyRose-branded templates
5. Video Structure — standard format for retention + CTA
6. Shorts Strategy — repurposing TikTok/Reels into Shorts
7. 6-Month Growth Roadmap — monthly focus and targets
8. First 10 Video Topics
```
**GATE: Approve outline before full strategy.**
---
## Phase 3: Write
### 1. Channel Positioning
```
## SkyyRose YouTube — Channel Identity
Niche: Luxury Oakland streetwear — brand story, collection drops, and behind-the-scenes
Value prop: "This channel is where SkyyRose gets built in public.
The collections, the process, the Oakland roots — all of it."
Ideal viewer: Streetwear-curious 18-35 year olds. Black consumers who
support Black-owned brands. Fashion enthusiasts who want
substance, not hype.
Channel name: SkyyRose
Channel handle: @skyyroseco (consistent with IG/TikTok)
Channel description (keyword-optimized):
"Luxury streetwear built from Oakland concrete. SkyyRose is an
independent Black-owned fashion brand — four collections, one city,
no shortcuts. Watch new collections drop, go behind the production,
and hear the story behind every piece. Luxury Grows from Concrete.
| Shop at skyyrose.co"
Channel keywords: luxury streetwear, Oakland fashion, Black-owned clothing brand,
independent fashion brand, streetwear drop, luxury from Oakland,
Bay Area streetwear, Black designer, limited edition clothing
```
---
### 2. Content Pillars (4 Pillars)
| Pillar | Name | Upload Ratio | Format | Search Intent |
|--------|------|-------------|--------|---------------|
| **1** | Collection Deep-Dives | 35% | Talking-head + product B-roll, 8-15 min | "Black Rose Collection walkthrough", "Love Hurts SkyyRose" |
| **2** | Brand Story / Founder | 25% | Corey on camera, raw and direct, 8-12 min | "SkyyRose story", "Black-owned fashion brand Oakland" |
| **3** | Behind the Production | 25% | B-roll + VO, 5-10 min | "How SkyyRose makes clothes", "luxury streetwear production" |
| **4** | Oakland / Culture | 15% | Location + commentary, 6-10 min | "Oakland style", "Bay Area fashion culture" |
**Pillar examples:**
```
Pillar 1 — Collection Deep-Dives:
- "Inside the Black Rose Collection — Every Piece, Every Detail"
- "Why Love Hurts Is the Most Personal Collection I've Made"
- "Signature Collection: What 'Stay Golden' Actually Means to Me"
Pillar 2 — Brand Story / Founder:
- "How I Built SkyyRose from $0 in Oakland"
- "Why I Named the Brand After My Daughter"
- "The Real Reason I Left [Previous Career] to Do This"
Pillar 3 — Behind the Production:
- "How a SkyyRose Crewneck Goes from Design to Your Hands"
- "Every Step of the Production Process — Nothing Hidden"
- "Why Every Drop Is Limited (It's Not a Marketing Trick)"
Pillar 4 — Oakland / Culture:
- "Oakland Fashion Is Underrated — Here's Why It Matters"
- "What 'Luxury Grows from Concrete' Actually Means to Oakland People"
- "The Brands That Influenced SkyyRose (And the Ones That Didn't)"
```
---
### 3. Upload Schedule
| Format | Frequency | Best Publish Day | Best Time (PST) |
|--------|-----------|-----------------|-----------------|
| Long-form video | 1-2x/month minimum | Wednesday or Thursday | 9:00 AM |
| YouTube Shorts | 3-5x/week | Daily, Tuesday–Saturday | 9:00 AM or 12:00 PM |
**Consistency rule:** 1 long-form/month + 3 Shorts/week beats 4 long-form uploads in one month and silence for three. Shorts drive subscriber growth faster and compound long-form discovery.
---
### 4. Title & Thumbnail System
**Title formulas (SkyyRose-adapted):**
```
Formula 1: "Inside [Collection Name] — [What They'll See]"
→ "Inside the Black Rose Collection — Every Piece, Explained"
Formula 2: "I Built [Thing] in Oakland. Here's Why."
→ "I Built a Luxury Streetwear Brand from Oakland. Here's Why."
Formula 3: "Why [Common Thing] Is Wrong (And What I Do Instead)"
→ "Why 'Luxury Streetwear' Usually Misses the Point"
Formula 4: "[Number] Things Nobody Tells You About [Topic]"
→ "5 Things Nobody Tells You About Running an Independent Fashion Brand"
Formula 5: "The [Product Name] — What It Is, Why It Exists"
→ "The BLACK Rose Crewneck — What It Is, Why It Exists"
```
**Title rules:**
- Under 60 characters for full visibility without truncation
- Front-load the most compelling word or name (collection name, "Black Rose", "Oakland")
- Never start with "SkyyRose" — the channel already signals the brand. Start with the hook.
- No ALL-CAPS click-bait. No "YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS". Corey's voice is earned, not hyped.
**Thumbnail system:**
```
## SkyyRose Thumbnail Template
Base: Dark background (#0A0A0A or dark editorial image)
Accent: Collection accent color (Silver for Black Rose, Crimson for Love Hurts,
Gold for Signature, Rose Gold for brand-wide)
Text: 3-5 bold words — NOT the video title. Complementary hook.
Example: Title = "Inside the Black Rose Collection"
Thumbnail text = "BUILT FOR THE TOWN"
Face: Corey if on-camera content. Product if no face available.
Expression should convey directness — not forced excitement.
Style reference: Fear of God tonal restraint + Culture Kings bold graphic confidence
Logo: SkyyRose wordmark bottom-right corner, small
Dimensions: 1280x720px (16:9)
Test: Squint test — is the thumbnail legible at phone-thumbnail size? If not, simplify.
```
---
### 5. Video Structure
**Standard format (applies to all Pillars 1-4):**
```
[0:00-0:30] HOOK
- State what the viewer will get in the first 15 seconds
- "In this video I'm walking you through every piece of the Black Rose Collection —
what it is, why I made it, and how to get it before the pre-order closes."
- No long intros. No "Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel."
Corey's register is direct. Start with the point.
[0:30-8:00] BODY
- Follow the structure promised in the hook
- Pattern interrupt every 2-3 minutes: cut to product B-roll, location shot,
production footage, or still image with VO
- Chapters / timestamps for videos over 8 minutes — always add them
- Keep the Corey voice: earned, specific, Oakland-direct. No performance.
[8:00-end] CTA (final 60 seconds)
- Single, specific CTA: "Link to pre-order is in the description —
limited run, once they're gone, they're gone."
- Suggest next video: "If you want to see how this piece gets made,
watch the production video next" + point to end card
- End card: Subscribe button + suggested next video
- Final line: "Luxury Grows from Concrete." — let it land.
```
**Target lengths by pillar:**
- Collection Deep-Dives: 10-15 minutes
- Brand Story / Founder: 8-12 minutes
- Behind the Production: 6-10 minutes
- Oakland / Culture: 6-10 minutes
- Shorts: Under 60 seconds (from existing TikTok/Reels)
---
### 6. Shorts Strategy
SkyyRose already produces TikTok and Reels content. Every TikTok is a potential Short:
```
Repurposing pipeline:
TikTok (native 9:16) → Upload to YouTube Shorts as-is OR re-edit with YT-specific CTA
Shorts content types:
- Product reveal clips (15-30s) from existing TikToks
- "One thing about [product]" clips — 30-45s insight with product close-up
- Collection teaser cuts from long-form videos — drive viewers to full video
- Behind-the-scenes moments — 20-30s packing or production snippets
Shorts frequency: 3-5x/week from existing assets (no new shoots required)
Shorts CTA: "Full collection walkthrough on the channel" or "Pre-order link in bio"
```
---
### 7. 6-Month Growth Roadmap
| Month | Focus | Format | Target |
|-------|-------|--------|--------|
| 1 | Channel launch + foundation | 1-2 long-form + Shorts daily from TikTok backlog | 100 subscribers |
| 2 | First collection deep-dive | 2 long-form (1 per collection featured) + Shorts | 300 subscribers |
| 3 | Thumbnail/title optimization | A/B test 2 title approaches per video + Shorts | 600 subscribers |
| 4 | Brand story series | 2-3 founder-voice videos + 2 Shorts/day | 1,000 subscribers |
| 5 | Cross-promotion push | Mention channel in every IG Story and TikTok for 30 days | 1,500 subscribers |
| 6 | Drop-aligned content | Launch collection video within 48h of every drop | 2,000+ subscribers |
---
### 8. First 10 Video Topics
Priority order — launch these in order:
```
1. "What Is SkyyRose? The Brand, the Story, the Collections" (Channel intro — Pillar 2)
2. "Inside the Black Rose Collection — Every Piece, Explained" (Pillar 1)
3. "How a SkyyRose Piece Goes from Design to Your Hands" (Pillar 3)
4. "Why I Built SkyyRose in Oakland (Not LA, Not NYC)" (Pillar 2)
5. "Inside the Love Hurts Collection — Where It Came From" (Pillar 1)
6. "The Production Process — Nothing Hidden" (Pillar 3)
7. "Inside the Signature Collection — What 'Stay Golden' Means" (Pillar 1)
8. "Oakland Fashion Is Underrated. Here's Why It Matters." (Pillar 4)
9. "Why Every Drop Is Limited (It's Not a Marketing Trick)" (Pillar 3)
10. "Inside the Kids Capsule — Luxury Starts Young" (Pillar 1)
```
---

## Implementation
```python
from agents.social_media_agent import SocialMediaAgent
agent = SocialMediaAgent()
# Generate a collection launch post for YouTube description copy
collection_context = agent.get_collection_context("black-rose")
# Generate a product campaign that anchors the collection deep-dive video description
campaign = agent.generate_campaign(
collection="black-rose",
platforms=["youtube"],
content_types=["product_launch", "behind_scenes"]
)
# Generate a lifestyle post to extract as YouTube Community post
community_post = agent.generate_post("br-001", "instagram", "lifestyle")
print("YouTube Community post adapted from IG post:")
print(community_post.caption)
```
```bash
# Smoke-test the venture pipeline to confirm asset generation is working:
python -m skyyrose.elite_studio.ventures.social smoke --sku br-001
```

## Example: First 90 Days for SkyyRose YouTube Launch
**Month 1 — Foundation**
Week 1: Upload channel intro video ("What Is SkyyRose?"). Upload 5 Shorts from TikTok backlog. Optimize channel description and keywords.
Week 2: Upload Black Rose Collection deep-dive. Cross-promote on IG Stories ("Full Black Rose walkthrough on YouTube — link in bio"). 5 Shorts.
Week 3: Upload production deep-dive. 5 Shorts.
Week 4: Review analytics — which long-form got more watch time? Which Short drove most subscribers? Double down on winning format in Month 2.
**Thumbnail for "What Is SkyyRose?" video:**
- Dark background, Corey centered, expression: direct, confident
- Thumbnail text: "BUILT FROM CONCRETE"

## Anti-Patterns
- **Generic "streetwear brand" positioning** — "Oakland luxury streetwear built by the founder" is differentiating. "Premium streetwear for those who want more" is every brand. Be specific.
- **Long intros** — "Hey guys, welcome back, make sure you hit subscribe before you forget..." — Corey's register is direct. Start with the point within the first 15 seconds.
- **Producing long-form before the Shorts engine is running** — Shorts from the existing TikTok backlog launch the channel and build subscriber base before long-form demands bandwidth. Don't skip Shorts.
- **Thumbnails without the dark background** — SkyyRose's visual identity is `#0A0A0A` dark. A light, bright thumbnail looks like a different brand. Consistency beats click-bait novelty.
- **Multiple CTAs in one video** — "Subscribe, comment, like, share, buy, visit the website, follow on IG..." Pick one. Every video ends with one specific next action tied to the video's content.
- **Chasing YouTube trends that don't fit** — Viral YouTube formats (reaction videos, mukbangs, challenge formats) aren't SkyyRose. Adapt the platform to the brand's voice, not the reverse.
---
## Recovery
- **No views on first 5 videos:** Audit thumbnails and titles first — click-through rate (CTR) below 4% means the packaging is the problem, not the content. Redesign thumbnails before producing more videos.
- **Can't commit to monthly uploads:** Switch to Shorts-only strategy. Upload 3-5 Shorts/week from the TikTok backlog. No new production required. Build subscriber base before adding long-form demands.
- **Running out of video topics:** Every collection has 4+ angles: walkthrough, production, founder story, styling. 4 collections = 16+ long-form topics before you need to expand beyond the catalog.
- **Corey unavailable for on-camera content:** Produce Pillar 3 (Behind the Production) and Pillar 4 (Oakland Culture) as voice-over over B-roll — no face required. Quality VO over strong visuals maintains brand authority.
- **Subscriber growth stalling after Month 3:** The Shorts pipeline is the fastest lever. If Shorts aren't running at 3x/week, start there. Every Short drives algorithm recommendation to new potential subscribers.
