# Position + Pitch (Android)
The one-liner that fits on Play Store + Reddit + landing page.
## The formula
**For [user] who [pain], [product] is a [category] that [unique benefit] unlike [alternative].**
Example:
> For Indian students who blow their monthly stipend in 2 weeks, RupeeTrack is a UPI-aware budget app that auto-categorizes every WhatsApp payment notification — unlike traditional budget apps that need manual entry.
## The one-line variants
### Play Store subtitle (30 chars)
> "Budget on autopilot via UPI"
### Reddit pitch (1 line)
> "I built RupeeTrack — a budget app that reads your UPI WhatsApp notifs and auto-categorizes spending. No manual entry."
### Landing page hero (8-12 words)
> "Your UPI budget, automatically tracked. No manual entry."
### Twitter/X bio (3 words)
> "Auto-budget for India"
## Test the pitch
- Show to 5 target users WITHOUT app
- Each should: (a) understand in <5 seconds, (b) want to install
- If not → revise
## Pitch anti-patterns
- "AI-powered" — meaningless, everyone says it
- "Revolutionary" — empty
- "World's best" — unprovable
- "For everyone" — for nobody
- "We empower" — vague verbs
## Pitch patterns that work
- "X without Y" (e.g., "Budgeting without manual entry")
- "X for Y people" (e.g., "Budgeting for UPI users")
- "Finally, X that Y" (e.g., "Finally a budget app that reads WhatsApp")
- "The X that Y" (e.g., "The budget app that reads WhatsApp payments")
## Output
`docs/positioning.md`:
- Formula filled in
- 5 one-liner variants (Play, Reddit, web, Twitter, app bar)
- Top 3 anti-positions (what we're NOT)
- Customer-language vocabulary
## Pair with
- `jtbd-interview` for customer language
- `app-naming-android` for naming alignment
- `aso-keywords-play` to convert positioning to keywords
