# Console / Get Logs
Retrieves Unity Editor logs. Useful for debugging and monitoring Unity Editor activity.
## Inputs
- `maxEntries` (default 100, minimum 1) — caps the size of the returned array.
- `logTypeFilter` — Unity `LogType` filter; `null` returns all severities.
- `includeStackTrace` (default `false`) — include stack-trace strings in each entry.
- `lastMinutes` (default 0) — when non-zero, only logs from the last N minutes are returned.
## How to Call
```bash
unity-mcp-cli run-tool console-get-logs --input '{
"maxEntries": 0,
"logTypeFilter": "string_value",
"includeStackTrace": false,
"lastMinutes": 0
}'
```
> For complex input (multi-line strings, code), save the JSON to a file and use:
> ```bash
> unity-mcp-cli run-tool console-get-logs --input-file args.json
> ```
>
> Or pipe via stdin (recommended):
> ```bash
> unity-mcp-cli run-tool console-get-logs --input-file - <<'EOF'
> {"param": "value"}
> EOF
> ```
### Troubleshooting
If `unity-mcp-cli` is not found, either install it globally (`npm install -g unity-mcp-cli`) or use `npx unity-mcp-cli` instead.
Read the /unity-initial-setup skill for detailed installation instructions.

| `includeStackTrace` | `boolean` | No | Include stack traces in the output. Default: false |
| `lastMinutes` | `integer` | No | Return logs from the last N minutes. If 0, returns all available logs. Default: 0 |
