# Promises Skill

## Overview
This standalone skill enables any agent to perform a high-quality promises study for a given Bible reference, text, or topic by retrieving promise lists from the local collections database.

## Guidelines & Objectives
When executing this skill:
- Always run the python retriever script located at `.grok/skills/promises/promises_query.py` to retrieve the database promise records.
- Execute the script using: `python3 .grok/skills/promises/promises_query.py "<query>"` where `<query>` is the name or category of the promise.
- Do not just present raw verses. For each scripture retrieved, provide a clear explanation detailing the specific promises it gives to the user (e.g. divine presence, financial supply, internal peace, spiritual victory).
- Further expand the list of promises by identifying and adding supplementary Bible verses that are highly relevant to the query but are not present in the database retrieval. Quote their exact texts using the local `bible` skill, and explain what promises they offer.
- All study outputs generated by the `/promises` command must be saved to the `biblemate/` folder with a timestamp prefix under the Universal Study Output Saving Rule.

## Required Study Output Structure
The final markdown study file saved to the `biblemate/` folder MUST follow this structure:

### 1. Database-Retrieved Promises
For every verse retrieved by the `promises_query.py` script:
- **[Verse Reference]**: [Full Verse Text]
  - **The Promise**: [Explain in detail the specific promise this verse gives to the believer, e.g., protection, guidance, provision, peace, strength]
  - **Key Lesson**: [A concise practical lesson/takeaway from the verse]

### 2. Supplementary Promises (Expanded List)
Identify 3-5 additional relevant scriptures from the wider Bible that were not retrieved by the database search. Retrieve their exact texts using the local `bible` skill, and present them in this format:
- **[Verse Reference]**: [Full Verse Text]
  - **The Promise**: [Explain the specific promise offered by this supplementary verse]
  - **Key Lesson**: [A concise practical lesson/takeaway]

### 3. Theological Significance & Analysis
- **Covenantal Context**: Clarify who the promise was originally given to and the conditions, if any.
- **Christological Fulfillment**: Explain how all the promises of God are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ (2 Cor 1:20).
- **Faith Application**: Instruct the user on how to lay hold of these promises through faith.

### 4. Pastoral Reflection or Prayer
Provide a scriptural prayer in the first person based on these promises so the user can pray it directly, or a warm pastoral reflection.
