# Carrier Marketing & Customer Acquisition
Most trucking companies are sales-driven, not marketing-driven. But carriers wanting to grow direct shipper business need marketing capability. This skill covers the practical approaches.
## Sales channels for carriers
### Outbound prospecting
- **Cold calling** — old-school; still works for established lanes
- **LinkedIn outreach** — connect with supply chain managers
