Backlog is growing faster than we close it, and on current trend it roughly doubles within a year (see chart).
That backlog is costing us in three ways:
1. **Customers are leaving.** Churn tracks defect volume directly (see chart), and CX/Research interviews show customers citing bugs as the reason they left.
2. **Our reputation is taking hits.** User posts and a complaint from a major account are surfacing defects publicly.
3. **Deals are getting harder to close.** Sales reports that prospects are raising these same defects as an objection, and close rates are falling.
