Subject: Sprint recommendation: Dedicate next sprint to defect reduction

As we plan the next sprint, the defect backlog has crossed a threshold where it is no longer just a technical issue. Incoming defects now exceed our fix rate, projecting a much larger backlog in a year. Crucially, this decline is causing active business harm: churn is rising, a major account has complained, and Sales close rates are slipping.

We should use the next sprint to reduce the defect backlog.

1. Protect revenue and reputation. Sales reports indicate falling close rates linked to quality concerns, a major account has lodged a formal complaint, and negative sentiment is evident in user posts.
2. Stop customer churn. Data shows churn correlates directly with defect volume, and customer interviews confirm that bugs are driving dissatisfaction.
3. Reverse the backlog trajectory. Our current velocity cannot absorb incoming defects; without a focused effort, the backlog will grow unmanageable over the next year.
