3. **Leverage the type system**: Use sealed classes for state, value classes for domain types, and nullable types instead of sentinel values.
4. **Follow Kotlin conventions**: Use scope functions idiomatically, prefer expression bodies for short functions, use trailing lambdas.
5. **Write check-clean code**: code should satisfy `./gradlew check` (detekt/ktlint, tests, compilation); confirm by review rather than running it, and run it only when the user asks.
## Best Practices
- Use `kotlinx.serialization` for JSON instead of Gson or Jackson in KMP projects
- Prefer `StateFlow` over `LiveData` for observable state in shared modules
