# Context Schema Comparison Framework

## Purpose
Provides a structured methodology for comparing how different agent frameworks manage context, including schema design, memory architecture, compression strategies, and retrieval mechanisms.

## When to Use
- When evaluating multiple agent frameworks for adoption
- When designing a new context management system
- When conducting architectural assessments
- When writing comparative analysis reports

## Instructions

### Step 1: Identify Context Schema Components
For each framework, locate and analyze:

**Schema Definition:**
- Find the main context dataclass/model (search for "Context", "State", "Memory")
- Document all fields with types and purposes
- Note nested structures and relationships

**Key Dimensions to Compare:**
1. **User/Session Context**: How user identity and session state are tracked
2. **Conversation History**: Message storage format, length limits, compression
3. **Tool/Action State**: Tool registry, execution history, parameters
4. **Memory/Persistence**: Long-term memory structures, retrieval mechanisms
5. **Metadata**: Timestamps, IDs, provenance tracking
6. **Extensibility**: Custom fields, plugins, dynamic schema support

### Step 2: Analyze Architectural Patterns
Document for each framework:

**Storage Mechanism:**
- In-memory only vs persistent storage
- Database type if any (SQL, NoSQL, vector DB)
- Serialization format (JSON, pickle, custom)

**Context Lifecycle:**
- When context is created/initialized
- How it persists between requests
- Cleanup and garbage collection strategies

**Compression Strategies:**
- Message summarization approaches
- Sliding window vs full history
- Token counting and limits

### Step 3: Create Comparison Matrix
Build a structured comparison:

| Dimension | Framework A | Framework B | Framework C |
|-----------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
| Schema Complexity | Simple/Medium/Complex | ... | ... |
| User Context Fields | Count, key fields | ... | ... |
| Message History Format | List of dicts, custom objects | ... | ... |
| Tool State Tracking | Yes/No, approach | ... | ... |
| Memory Architecture | In-memory only, hybrid, persistent | ... | ... |
| Compression Strategy | None, summarization, sliding window | ... | ... |
| Extensibility | Fixed schema, dynamic fields, plugins | ... | ... |

### Step 4: Identify Tradeoffs and Patterns
Analyze:
- **Simplicity vs. Flexibility**: How does each balance ease of use with customization?
- **Memory Efficiency**: Token usage patterns, compression effectiveness
- **Type Safety**: Strong typing vs dynamic schemas
- **Persistence Model**: Ephemeral vs durable state management

### Step 5: Synthesize Findings
Produce analysis covering:
1. **Architectural Spectrum**: Where each framework falls on key dimensions
2. **Notable Design Decisions**: Unique approaches worth highlighting
3. **Tradeoff Analysis**: What each approach optimizes for and sacrifices
4. **Recommendations**: When to choose each approach based on use case

## Output Format
Produce a Context Schema Comparison Report with:
- **Executive Summary**: 2-3 paragraph overview of key findings
- **Schema Breakdown**: Detailed field-by-field comparison
- **Architecture Diagrams**: Visual representation of context flow
- **Comparison Matrix**: Side-by-side feature comparison
- **Tradeoff Analysis**: Key design decisions and their implications
- **Recommendations**: Guidance for framework selection based on requirements

## Example Triggers
- "Compare how these frameworks handle context management"
- "Analyze the differences in memory architecture between these systems"
- "Evaluate context schema designs across multiple agent frameworks"
