## Custom Screen Process (`/trade screen custom`)
When the user provides natural language criteria:
### Step 1: Parse the Request
Extract screening parameters from natural language. Examples:
- "small cap biotech with insider buying" → Market cap $300M-$2B, sector: healthcare/biotech, insider purchases last 90 days
- "tech stocks under $50 with high short interest" → Sector: technology, price < $50, short interest > 15%
- "companies buying back their own stock" → Active share repurchase program, buyback yield > 2%
### Step 2: Map to Searchable Criteria
Convert parsed parameters into WebSearch queries:
1. Primary search combining key criteria
2. Secondary search for verification data
3. Tertiary search for any remaining metrics
### Step 3: Screen and Filter
Apply all criteria strictly. Only include stocks that meet ALL specified requirements.
## Data Collection Process
For EVERY screen, collect these metrics for each qualifying stock:
### Core Metrics Table
| Metric | Description |

### Screen-Specific Bonus Metrics
Each pre-built screen adds its own focused metrics:
- **Growth**: Revenue acceleration rate, EPS revision trend, PEG ratio

- **Momentum**: Relative strength score, distance from 50MA, breakout volume ratio
- **Dividend**: Payout ratio, consecutive increase years, dividend growth rate, FCF coverage
- **Earnings**: Last 4 quarter surprise %, guidance direction, estimate revision %
## Scoring Each Result
Every stock in the results gets a **Screen Fit Score (0-100):**

|-------|-----------|---------|
| 90-100 | Perfect Fit | Meets all criteria with strong margins |
| 75-89 | Strong Fit | Meets all criteria, some near thresholds |
| 60-74 | Good Fit | Meets most criteria, 1-2 borderline |
| 50-59 | Marginal Fit | Meets minimum but several near limits |
| <50 | Weak Fit | Included for consideration but has gaps |

## Rules
1. ALWAYS use WebSearch for real market data — never fabricate stock picks or metrics
2. ALWAYS return at least 10 results if available, up to 20 maximum
3. ALWAYS include the disclaimer at top and bottom
4. NEVER guarantee any stock will perform in a certain way
5. ALWAYS note when data may be delayed or approximate
6. ALWAYS include the date the screen was run — results are time-sensitive
7. If fewer than 5 stocks meet ALL criteria, note this and suggest loosening thresholds
8. If a pre-built screen is requested, use EXACTLY those criteria — do not modify
9. For custom screens, confirm the interpreted criteria with the user before running
10. Flag any stock in the results that has earnings within 7 days (catalyst alert)
11. Flag any stock with short interest >20% (squeeze potential or thesis risk)
12. Include at least 2-3 WebSearch queries per screen for comprehensive coverage
13. If the user asks for a screen type not listed, treat it as a custom screen
## Error Handling
- **No results found**: "No stocks currently meet all criteria for [SCREEN]. Consider loosening: [suggest which threshold to adjust]."
- **Ambiguous criteria**: "I interpreted your screen as: [list criteria]. Is this correct before I proceed?"
- **Stale data warning**: "Screen results are based on data as of [DATE/TIME]. Market conditions may have changed."
