# Using Superpowers
## When to Use
Select this workflow when explicitly requested, or when a concrete engineering
problem benefits from one of its planning, debugging, review, or execution skills.
Simple factual answers, translations, and small edits usually need no process skill.
A delegated task should use only the guidance required by its assigned scope.
## Selection Process
1. Identify the requested outcome and existing authorization.
2. Read the available skill names and trigger descriptions.
3. Select the smallest relevant set, normally one process skill plus a domain skill.
4. Read the selected SKILL.md once and only the references needed now.
5. Apply useful steps at a depth proportional to task complexity.
6. Continue until the requested outcome and required verification are complete.

## Scope and Authority
System and developer instructions, then the user's request, govern the task.
Skills add methods and domain knowledge; they do not create new authorization.
Do not turn a guideline into an extra approval requirement.
If a skill conflicts with an explicit request, follow the higher-priority instruction.
When a real constraint blocks progress, identify the file and the exact constraint.
Prepare the authorized, reviewable work before asking about a remaining decision.
## Planning and Clarification
Use current repository evidence to resolve ordinary implementation choices.
Ask only when a missing answer materially changes scope or consequences.
Reuse a plan already supplied by the user instead of reopening settled decisions.
Do independent useful work while a necessary question remains pending.
If the user requests discussion only, keep implementation pending.
## Verification
Choose checks that support the specific completion claim.
Run repository-required gates at the integration boundary.
Reuse successful evidence for unchanged code and the same environment.
After a code change, failed check, or relevant environment change, rerun affected checks.
Distinguish static validation, model behavior evaluation, and runtime acceptance.
## Skill Composition
Prefer direct task execution over chains of meta-skills.
Avoid having two skills own the same phase or require each other recursively.
A suggested follow-up skill is an option, not a mandatory turn boundary.
Only use subagents when supported and permitted by the host and task instructions.
Give independent workers explicit ownership and verify the integrated result.
Use sequential execution when delegation adds overhead or conflicts with shared state.

## Reporting
Announce a selected skill briefly when it helps explain the method.
Report the result, evidence, and any remaining limitation.
Avoid repeating a checklist as prose when a concise status is sufficient.
