# Post Ideas Bank
## When To Use
You want to start posting but "I have nothing to say yet", and every graduate post you see is either a gratitude list or a job announcement. This skill mines what really happened this month and answers: which ten things could I post that are true, mine and worth a minute of someone's time?
## When Not To Use
If you already know what you want to post, skip the bank and go straight to Learning Post, Project Post or Milestone Post. If your month is genuinely empty of rows and notes, run Experience Inventory first; ideas with nothing behind them turn into vague posts.
## Inputs
- Your Experience Inventory and any Project Interview Notes or Project Case Study
- A rough list of this month: modules, talks, careers fairs, insight days, things you finished, a question you are still chewing on
- Optional: your Target Role Brief, so ideas lean towards the roles you want
If you have none of this, I start from a five-minute chat about your last four weeks and mark the bank as a first draft.
## Approach
Learning in public, described generically: you share what you are learning and making while you learn it, not only when you have won. LinkedIn's own student page makes the same point, that not every post needs to celebrate a big win (LinkedIn for students). The judgment is in the screen, not the brainstorm. The failure it prevents: a first post about an insight day that quotes a confidential slide, or names a classmate who never agreed.
## Workflow
1. Ask at most three questions: what took most of your time this month, one thing that surprised you, and anything you are not allowed to talk about (module rules, placement confidentiality).
2. Mine the month in this order: inventory rows dated this month, project notes, events you attended, things you finished (a course, a book, a module), and one question you are still working out. Each source gives at most three ideas, so one big project does not swallow the bank.
3. For each idea, write the type (learning, project, milestone, question), the source row or note it comes from, the one true thing it says in a single sentence, and which post skill would write it.
4. Mark the evidence: "enough" if the row holds a concrete moment, "needs a detail" if you would have to remember what was on the whiteboard first. Write the detail you would need.
5. Screen into the never-post list: anything confidential, about other people without their yes, a rant, assessed work outside your university's rules, or anything you would not say in an interview. Aim for five, in your words.
6. Hand the bank back unranked. You pick; there is no posting schedule and no frequency target.
## Output Format
```markdown
# Post Ideas Bank
Month: [month] · Built from: [inventory / project notes / month list]
## Ideas
| # | Type | Source row or note | The one true thing it says | Evidence | Written by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | [learning / project / milestone / question] | [row or note] | [one sentence] | [enough / needs: detail] | [Learning Post / Project Post / Milestone Post] |
## Never post
| # | Idea | Why not |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | [idea] | [confidential / about someone without their yes / rant / assessed work / would not say in an interview] |
## Decision
You pick one idea to draft by [date], or decide this month's bank holds nothing you want to post.
```
## Done When
- There are ten ideas, each with a source row or note you can point to.
- Each idea fits in one true sentence; anything that needs two is split or cut.
- The never-post list has up to five entries with a reason each.
- Nothing about another person appears in the ideas without a note that they agreed.
## Quality Bar
- No idea from a hope, a plan you have not started or a result you have not had.
- A question you are still working out counts as an idea; you do not need a lesson to post.
- No ranking by predicted reach and no "this will go viral"; the bank is sorted by month order.
- Placement and insight day ideas carry a confidentiality check before they move to a draft.
- Every idea comes from something that really happened this month.
## Next
Run glink-learning-post (Learning Post) to turn one learning idea into a draft.
