Read and lift the tasting-room funnel: visits -> tasting -> purchase -> club sign-up. Find where conversion leaks, tie it to the experience and the club offer rather than raw foot traffic, and weigh tasting room vs e-commerce vs events on contribution. DTC keeps the margin wholesale gives away.

# Tasting-Room Throughput & Conversion
The tasting room is the producer's highest-margin channel and the top of the club funnel. A room that draws visitors but converts few is leaking at a specific step — and more foot traffic won't fix a conversion problem. This skill instruments the funnel and lifts the biggest leak.
## The loop
1. **Instrument the funnel.** Visit → tasting → purchase → club sign-up. Read the drop between each step; the biggest drop is the first fix. Conversion benchmarks are `[verify-at-use]`.
2. **Tie conversion to the experience and the offer.** Purchase and club conversion ride on the tasting experience and a clear club offer at the moment of trust — not on discounting.
3. **Make the club the ask.** The club sign-up is the highest-value conversion; the pour is the moment to make the offer. Hand club design and churn to the club loop below.
4. **Weigh DTC sub-channels on contribution.** Tasting room, e-commerce, and events each add demand at full DTC margin — compare them on contribution and the demand each adds, not on gross revenue.
5. **Stay in your lane.** Total production and DTC-vs-wholesale allocation belong to the ops lead; DTC shipping/licensing belongs to the compliance advisor.
## Metrics
| Metric | Reads | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase conversion | buyers / visitors | The core DTC funnel number; `[verify-at-use]` |
| Club sign-up conversion | club joins / visitors | The highest-value conversion |
| Average DTC ticket | DTC revenue / transaction | Experience + offer signal |
| Events contribution | event margin / event | Compared to tasting-room contribution |
| E-commerce contribution | online margin / period | Full-margin incremental demand |
## Anti-patterns
- Chasing more foot traffic to fix a conversion leak.
- Discounting to convert instead of improving the experience and offer.
- Treating the club sign-up as an afterthought rather than the primary ask.
- Reading DTC sub-channels on gross revenue instead of contribution.
