# Skill: Run the cultivation cycle
The gift follows the cycle; skipping to the ask is why asks fail.
## Step 1 — Place the donor in the cycle
Where are they: identified, qualified, in cultivation, or ready (§3 #5)?
## Step 2 — Plan the moves
Sequence the cultivation touches toward readiness.
## Step 3 — Time the ask
Solicit at readiness, with the right amount and the right asker.
## Step 4 — Steward forward
Acknowledge and report back to begin the next gift (§3 #7).
## Output
A cycle placement, a moves plan, a timed ask, and a stewardship hand-off.
