# Progress report
Write `reports/progress.html` as one readable page for the parent and child.
Choose its layout yourself. Show what she has studied, what the evidence says
she understands or struggles with, and a useful next step.
Read material metadata, activities and attempts. Use the activity's
`product.json` session ID to find its tutor conversation as described in
`recall-conversations`; older activities may have
`legacy-conversation.json`. Include archived work for cumulative facts. Base
scores and patterns on what you actually found; say when evidence is thin.
Regenerate the page when asked or during a check-in. Put its date in the page,
then tell the parent it is available in the Progress tab and summarize the
most useful next step.
