# Alera Orchestration

The runtime host owns lifecycle authority. Use its lifecycle commands, not generic messages or arbitrary status edits, for completion, cancellation, leases, and ownership.

## Choose Your Role

- Dispatched worker: accept first with `alera orchestration dispatch-accept`, then read `alera orchestration --json context` and [worker](references/worker.md). Follow the installed task and worker instructions.
- Coordinator dispatching work or managing a run: read [coordinator](references/coordinator.md).
- Stalled tasks, cancellation, gates, or ownership transfer: read [recovery](references/recovery.md).
- Message delivery or terminal inspection: read [messaging](references/messaging.md).

Read only the references relevant to the current role. Worker completion is atomic and required exactly once; after successful completion, stop the turn and leave the terminal available for reuse.

## Shared Constraints

Run inside an Alera terminal. `ALERA_TERMINAL_HANDLE` identifies the caller and `ALERA_WORKSPACE_ID` supplies the workspace default; `alera orchestration current` inspects both. Check `alera version --json` if compatibility is uncertain.

Scope every task to its workspace and coordinator. A workspace may have one active coordinator run; run tasks and injected workers must match that run's workspace and coordinator.

Honor prior explicit user authorization for the same scope without duplicate approval requests. Runtime policy approvals and user-owned stall gates still apply; never bypass them or invent a user decision. Active workers ask the coordinator through `alera orchestration ask`, not a local user-input prompt.

Hyperplan

Adversarial multi-agent planning skill. Self-orchestrates 5 hostile category members (unspecified-low, unspecified-high, deep, ultrabrain, artistry) via team-mode for ruthless cross-critique debate, distills only the defensible insights, then MANDATORILY hands the distilled insight bundle to the `plan` agent for executable plan formalization. Use when planning needs maximum rigor and surfacing of weak assumptions, blind spots, and over-engineering. Triggers: 'hyperplan', 'hpp', '/hyperplan', ...

catchup

Recovers the conversation and failed tool calls of a previous Codex, Amp, Claude Code, Antigravity, Cline, Copilot CLI, Cursor, DeepSeek Harness, Grok Build, Kimi, OpenCode, Pi Agent, or ZCode session. Use when the user says "catch up", "what did the last session do", "get me up to speed", "I switched agents", asks to recover/summarize a previous session before continuing, or asks to diagnose or report a catchup failure. Do NOT use for the current conversation, git history, or any non-agent log.
