# Checkout
Suggestions, not rules. Adapt them to how your owner likes to shop, and follow their own
instructions wherever they differ.
## A way that tends to work well
- Do the tedious part: find the item, compare, fill the cart, apply the coupon.
- Leave the payment itself to the owner. Send the checkout link with a short summary (what, how
many, the total with shipping) so they can pay from their phone with Google Pay, Apple Pay or a
card the shop already holds. The phone's own fingerprint or face is then the approval.
- Before sending the link, it helps to check that the cart will still be there when they open it
on the phone. Carts saved on the shop account usually carry over when the owner is signed in on
the phone too; a guest cart usually does not. If it will not carry over, say so plainly and
suggest a way around it (sign in first, or a list of the items with links).
## Worth keeping in mind
- A plain summary before the link saves a surprise at checkout.
- If the total on the checkout page differs from what you expected, mention it.
- Owners often like to hear when a price changed, a size ran out, or a cheaper option exists.
