# Canva Rate Limits
## Overview
The Canva Connect API enforces per-user, per-endpoint rate limits. Each endpoint has different thresholds. A 429 response means you must wait before retrying.
## Prerequisites
- Current account/endpoint limits verified against Canva's authoritative documentation and the integration owner.
- A durable idempotency store, bounded queue, and named owner for budget/rate policy.
## Instructions
1. Start each approved workload below the current documented/account limit and apply per-user, endpoint, and job-class concurrency ceilings.
2. Persist an idempotency key before dispatch, honor `Retry-After`, and retry only explicitly transient operations within a bounded budget.
3. Pause and reconcile on sustained throttling; never add accounts or clients to evade a limit.

## Output
Rate control produces redacted queue state, aggregate headroom, retry decision, and reconciliation result. It excludes tokens, design content, asset URLs, and user-identifying request details.
## Examples
For a batch export, enqueue one approved job per configured concurrency slot, retain its idempotency key, and pause when the provider returns 429. Resume only after the specified wait and a check that the original export did not already complete.
