# Research Audience
Run /research; this adds only the audience axis. research owns the trust check, the page gate, the verbatim-or-PARAPHRASE record format with its URL and dates, and the write to `research/<subject>/<topic>.md` — hold to it and add only what follows.
Inputs: the one group, from discover-audience's lists, and the domain from the research `Brief.md` — nothing else. Excluded: owner facts, product facts, competitor records, and any persona or target buyer — you mine what this group actually says and does, never confirm a guess about who they are, and you stay blind to the competitor thread.
## Mine the one group deep
Take the one group and mine it deep across the venues where it talks, capturing three things verbatim, each sorted into its own topic file:
- **Venues** — where this group congregates and talks in the open: the forums, communities, and feeds it lives in, each with the countable facts read off the page (member count, activity, recency).
- **Language** — the exact words this group uses about its own situation: how it names its pain, its desire, and its objections, quoted verbatim from the page they were said on.
- **Already pays for** — what this group already spends money or effort on: the tools, subscriptions, services, and workarounds its members name owning or paying for, in their words.
"We were drowning in spreadsheets" is the record; "manual-process inefficiency" destroys it. Never invent a record to fill a slot — an empty slot is an honest record.
### An observed spend is a record that a member named it
What a member says they pay for is a record that this person said it, never proof the whole group buys it or that a market exists. Capture the spend in the member's words; never size it into a segment or a demand. Whether it is a real market is the judged-files step's, from these records.
