# Community Engagement Plan
Use when a community needs deliberate participation growth or recovery from passive membership.
## Procedure
1. Define the member segment and the useful behavior to increase, such as answering peers, sharing work, attending, contributing resources, or returning after inactivity.
2. Identify current barriers from community evidence: unclear norms, empty channels, low response, poor onboarding, low perceived value, or lack of relevant prompts.
3. Choose formats that make the target behavior easy and worthwhile: prompts, showcases, office hours, challenges, AMAs, peer review, events, or contributor programs as appropriate.
4. Establish staff response and facilitation rhythms that seed healthy interaction without training members to wait for staff.
5. Recruit and support credible member contributors rather than relying only on brand accounts.
6. Coordinate timing with launches, product cycles, time zones, and member availability while avoiding calendar overload.
7. Define metrics tied to the target behavior and member outcome, not impressions alone.
8. Review participation distribution, quality, and operator effort and retire formats that produce superficial activity.
## Decision rules
- Engagement is valuable participation, not maximum message volume.
- Recurring formats should earn their place through member value.
- Staff participation should scaffold peer interaction, not replace it.
- Avoid manipulative engagement bait that weakens trust.
## Quality gate
The plan is ready when target member behavior and barriers are explicit, formats and facilitation directly address them, contributor and staff roles are sustainable, measurement captures participation quality, and the program can be adjusted from observed community outcomes. Is this your skill, or is something wrong with this listing?
