# Audio Design
Use for sound effects, ambience, UI audio, music direction, interactive audio systems, and sonic feedback.
## Procedure
1. Define what the sound must communicate functionally and emotionally.
2. Identify listener context, repetition frequency, spatial placement, competing sounds, and dynamic range constraints.
3. Build or select source material and layer only where each layer serves a purpose.
4. Design variation for frequently repeated sounds to avoid fatigue.
5. Specify timing, envelope, loudness, priority, spatialization, looping, and state transitions.
6. Test in the actual experience alongside music, dialogue, and other effects.
7. Adjust for clarity, fatigue, accessibility, and performance/memory constraints.
## Quality gate
The sound should improve understanding or experience in context. A beautiful isolated sound that masks important cues is not successful. Is this your skill, or is something wrong with this listing? Request removal or report an issue. Author removals are honored within 72 hours.
