# Assertive Communication
Identify the observable situation, the user's actual position or need, the specific request or boundary, and what the user controls if the answer is no. Remove mind-reading, insults, threats, and unnecessary prosecution of the other person's character.
Keep the wording proportional. Assertiveness is clarity plus ownership, not domination.
