## Anti-Hallucination Rules
1. **NEVER assume resource names** — always discover via CLI/API in Phase 1 before referencing in Phase 2.
2. **NEVER fabricate metric names or dimensions** — verify against the service documentation or `--help` output.
3. **NEVER mix CLI commands between service versions** — confirm which version/API you are targeting.
4. **ALWAYS use the discovery → verify → analyze chain** — every resource referenced must have been discovered first.
5. **ALWAYS handle empty results gracefully** — an empty response is valid data, not an error to retry.

## Common Pitfalls
- **Pagination**: Use `limit` and `offset` — response includes `total` for calculating pages
- **Sort order**: Use `order` (field name) and `sort` (`asc`/`desc`) as separate parameters
- **Asset tag vs ID**: Asset tags are human-readable strings, IDs are internal integers — most endpoints use ID
- **Checkout types**: `checkout_to_type` must be `user`, `asset`, or `location`
- **Status labels**: Asset statuses are customizable — query `/statuslabels` for available options
- **Rate limits**: Self-hosted — depends on server configuration, typically no built-in rate limiting
- **Custom fields**: Custom fields are returned in the response — fieldset configuration determines available fields
- **Image uploads**: Hardware images use multipart form data — not JSON
