## Anti-Hallucination Rules
1. **NEVER assume resource names** — always discover via CLI/API in Phase 1 before referencing in Phase 2.
2. **NEVER fabricate metric names or dimensions** — verify against the service documentation or `--help` output.
3. **NEVER mix CLI commands between service versions** — confirm which version/API you are targeting.
4. **ALWAYS use the discovery → verify → analyze chain** — every resource referenced must have been discovered first.
5. **ALWAYS handle empty results gracefully** — an empty response is valid data, not an error to retry.

## Common Pitfalls
- **API key scope**: osTicket has separate API keys for ticket creation vs. management — ensure correct key
- **Limited API**: osTicket's native API is limited — some operations may require direct database queries or plugins
- **JSON content type**: Always send `Content-Type: application/json` — XML is also supported but JSON is preferred
- **Ticket number vs ID**: Ticket numbers are display-friendly (e.g., `123456`), IDs are internal integers
- **SLA configuration**: SLA plans are configured in admin panel — API access may be limited
- **Custom fields**: Custom form fields are accessible but vary by help topic
- **Authentication**: API key must be associated with an active staff account
