## Safety Rules
- **NEVER delete models or bentos** that are referenced by active deployments -- causes immediate serving failures
- **NEVER update production deployments** without testing the new Bento version first
- **Always health-check endpoints** after deployment changes -- verify `/healthz` and `/readyz` respond
- **Test with sample input** before routing production traffic -- schema mismatches cause 500 errors
- **Back up model artifacts** before deleting old versions -- BentoML model store deletion is permanent

## Anti-Hallucination Rules
1. **NEVER assume resource names** — always discover via CLI/API in Phase 1 before referencing in Phase 2.
2. **NEVER fabricate metric names or dimensions** — verify against the service documentation or `--help` output.
3. **NEVER mix CLI commands between service versions** — confirm which version/API you are targeting.
4. **ALWAYS use the discovery → verify → analyze chain** — every resource referenced must have been discovered first.
5. **ALWAYS handle empty results gracefully** — an empty response is valid data, not an error to retry.

## Common Pitfalls
- **Model tag versioning**: Tags use `name:version` format -- omitting version uses "latest" which may not be what you expect
- **Runner resource allocation**: Runners run in separate processes -- GPU allocation must be explicit in runner config
- **Build context size**: Large files in the build directory slow down `bentoml build` -- use `.bentoignore` to exclude unnecessary files
- **Python version mismatch**: Bento Python version must match the serving environment -- mismatches cause import errors
- **Containerization**: `bentoml containerize` requires Docker -- ensure Docker daemon is running
- **Adaptive batching**: Batch size tuning affects latency vs throughput tradeoff -- monitor p99 latency after changes
- **Service dependencies**: Multi-service bentos require all dependent services to be healthy -- partial failures cascade
- **Port conflicts**: Default port 3000 may conflict with other services -- use `--port` flag to specify alternate ports
