## Comment Guidelines
### When to Comment
✅ DO comment:
- Complex algorithms or business logic
- Non-obvious performance optimizations
- Workarounds and hacks (with explanation)
- Regex patterns
- Magic numbers/strings
- Security considerations
- API rate limits or external constraints
- Race conditions or threading concerns
- Edge cases and gotchas
❌ DON'T comment:
- Obvious code
- What the code does (the code shows that)
- Outdated information
- Commented-out code (use version control)
- Your name/date (use version control)
### Comment Style
- Keep comments concise and focused
- Update comments when code changes
- Use proper grammar and spelling
- Be specific, not vague
- Explain "why", not "what"
- Link to relevant documentation/tickets
- Use consistent comment format for your language
- Place comments above the code they describe
- Use TODO/FIXME/HACK/NOTE tags appropriately
