# Compare acquisition channels for one segment

## Use case

Use before choosing where to spend team time or campaign money for a defined customer task and segment. Produce a decision table, not a campaign or a forecast of guaranteed customers.

## Required inputs

- The target segment, its task, offer, eligibility, and desired next action.
- Candidate channels and available evidence about reachable audience, access rules, effort, cash cost, conversion, and follow-up capacity.
- A stated comparison period, budget authority, and success observation or a request to identify missing inputs.

## Procedure

1. Define one eligible prospect and one observable next action. Separate impressions, clicks, qualified interest, account creation, and paying use; they are different funnel stages.
2. For each channel, identify how the segment would encounter the offer and whether the team has permission and practical access to use that channel. Record any platform rule as source-dated and unverified if current terms were not supplied.
3. Normalize effort and cash estimates to the same period and workload. Keep unknown spend or conversion rates as ranges or unknowns rather than zero.
4. Compare evidence at the same funnel stage and eligibility rule. Show audience overlap and attribution limits so one person found in two channels is not counted twice as an acquired customer.
5. Name the smallest authorized, bounded test that could distinguish the leading channels, its observation window, stop condition, and follow-up capacity. Treat its result as a future observation.
6. Return a channel table, comparable and noncomparable evidence, recommended test order under the stated rule, and uncertainties that could reverse it.

## Completion check

The ranking uses the same prospect, outcome, and period for each channel or clearly marks noncomparable rows. A channel with many clicks but no qualified next action does not win solely on click volume.

## Stop or hold

Hold a spending or growth claim if channel access, budget, customer eligibility, or outcome tracking is unknown. Do not buy ads, scrape prospects, send messages, publish material, or invent channel conversion rates.
