# Kubernetes Resources

Understanding Kubernetes resource types and their relationships.

## Core Resources

### Pods

The smallest deployable unit in Kubernetes:

```yaml
apiVersion: v1
kind: Pod
metadata:
  name: my-pod
spec:
  containers:
  - name: app
    image: nginx:1.21
```

### ReplicaSets

Maintains a stable set of replica Pods:

```yaml
apiVersion: apps/v1
kind: ReplicaSet
metadata:
  name: my-replicaset
spec:
  replicas: 3
  selector:
    matchLabels:
      app: my-app
  template:
    # Pod template
```

### Deployments

Manages ReplicaSets and provides declarative updates:

```yaml
apiVersion: apps/v1
kind: Deployment
metadata:
  name: my-deployment
spec:
  replicas: 3
  strategy:
    type: RollingUpdate
    rollingUpdate:
      maxSurge: 1
      maxUnavailable: 0

## Networking Resources

### Services

Exposes Pods to network traffic:

- **ClusterIP**: Internal cluster access only
- **NodePort**: Exposes on each Node's IP
- **LoadBalancer**: Cloud provider load balancer
- **ExternalName**: DNS CNAME record

### Ingress

HTTP/HTTPS routing to services:

### PersistentVolume

Cluster-level storage resource:

## Workload Resources

### StatefulSet

For stateful applications:

### DaemonSet

Runs a Pod on every Node:

### Job

Run-to-completion tasks:

### CronJob
