# Translate technical PDFs through RetainPDF while preserving layout

Route scanned, scientific, and technical PDFs through RetainPDF so an agent can produce translated PDFs while preserving formulas, tables, code blocks, and page layout.

## Prerequisites

RetainPDF desktop release or Docker deployment, PDF inputs, OCR/translation backend configuration as required by upstream, optional API access for automation

## Installation

Use the upstream install or setup path that matches your environment:
- git clone https://github.com/wxyhgk/retain-pdf.git
- docker compose up -d
- docker compose pull
- docker compose ps

Requirements and caveats from upstream:
