# Resolve coding questions from upstream evidence with Firecrawl Developer Index
Find public issues, merged fixes and API-contract passages with Firecrawl’s named Developer Index skill, then return a cited, version-aware answer.
## Prerequisites
Node.js and npm supported by the installed firecrawl-cli release; internet access; a supported coding-agent harness for skill installation. Dedicated developer search is documented as keyless; optional FIRECRAWL_API_KEY for higher limits.
## Installation
Install or set up from the source-backed instructions:
npm install -g firecrawl-cli firecrawl setup developer-index --agent Choose the intended supported harness, such as codex or claude-code. Use firecrawl developer "your question" --limit 10; do not run browser authentication or setup defaults.
