# Prometheus Rule Evaluator

Validates and tests Prometheus alerting rules against historical metrics data using the Prometheus HTTP API /api/v1/query_range endpoint. Runs rule simulations with configurable time windows and threshold testing.

## Installation

Use the upstream install or setup path that matches your environment:
- Docker images are available on [Quay.io](https://quay.io/repository/prometheus/prometheus) or [Docker Hub](https://hub.docker.com/r/prom/prometheus/).
- docker run --name prometheus -d -p 127.0.0.1:9090:9090 prom/prometheus
