# MLT Multimedia Framework for Video Editing and Processing
MLT is an open-source LGPL multimedia framework designed for video editing. It provides a toolkit and the melt command-line tool for non-linear video editing, transitions, effects, and rendering. MLT powers Shotcut, Kdenlive, and other video editors.
## Installation
Use the upstream install or setup path that matches your environment:
- cmake ..
- cmake -G Ninja ..
- cmake --build .
Requirements and caveats from upstream:
- The command must be executed from inside the build/ directory
