# Enforcement Selection Skill
## Overview
This skill guides users through selecting enforcement patterns that will ensure their agent system lives its values, not just states them.
## Philosophy
> Values without enforcement are just aspirations.
Enforcement patterns translate our aspirations into operational reality. They are the mechanisms that ensure our values are practiced, not just professed.
## Purpose
Help users select and configure enforcement patterns that match their project's needs and risk profile, ensuring the agent system maintains integrity through measurable, enforceable standards.
## When to Use
- When you have defined axioms and principles but need mechanisms to ensure they're practiced
- When setting up quality gates and automated checks for a new project
- When transitioning from aspirational values to operational standards
- When configuring CI/CD pipelines that enforce code quality and safety
- When establishing measurable standards that maintain system integrity
## Trigger
- During onboarding after principles are defined
- User mentions "enforcement", "quality gates", "standards"
- Request to configure automated checks
## Prerequisites
- Completed axiom selection (Layer 0) to understand foundational values
- Defined principles or methodology to enforce
- Understanding of enforcement categories (Quality, Safety, Integrity)
- Access to enforcement pattern files (`patterns/enforcement/*.json`)
- User's project risk profile and tolerance for strictness
## Process
### Step 1: Explain Enforcement Philosophy

### Step 2: Present Enforcement Categories

### Step 3: Configure Thresholds
For each selected enforcement, configure thresholds:
