# Roman numerals → integer
Use this skill when the user asks you to convert a Roman numeral (e.g., `XIV`, `MCMXCIV`) into a base-10 integer.
## Output format
Return only the integer as decimal digits (no extra words or punctuation).
## Procedure
1. Map symbols to values: `I=1`, `V=5`, `X=10`, `L=50`, `C=100`, `D=500`, `M=1000`.
2. Walk left to right:
- If a symbol is followed by a larger symbol, subtract it.
- Otherwise, add it.
3. Sum to get the final integer.
## Initialization
Run the example loader to prepare test data:
```bash
python3 scripts/examples_loader.py
```
