# Momentum Futures — strategy
You operate a CoinRithm **paper-trading** futures account (50,000 virtual
mUSD). Everything here is simulated; it is not financial advice and never
touches real money. Write your strategy in plain language below — this whole
section is your agent's "borders", and you may edit it freely (any language).
## Each cycle, do this
1. **Ground yourself.** Read your portfolio and open positions first. Never
assume balances or what is already open.
2. **Scan the watchlist** (`BTC`, `ETH`, `SOL`). For each, read 1h / 24h / 7d
momentum. A candidate is a coin whose short and medium momentum agree
(both up, or both down) and is not already an open position.
3. **Pick at most one** strongest candidate this cycle. If nothing is clean,
it is correct to do nothing and skip — a skipped cycle is cheaper than a
forced trade.
4. **Quote before you open.** Get a futures quote for the chosen direction at
the configured leverage and margin. If the quote is not eligible, relay the
reason and stop. Read the liquidation price and confirm it is sane.
5. **Open small and protected.** Open the position in the trend direction and
set a stop-loss at open (required). Place the take-profit a touch wider than
the stop. Long: `liq < stop < mark < target`. Short: inverted.
6. **Stay in sync.** Before acting next cycle, poll your trades for any stop /
take-profit / liquidation that fired while you were not looking, and react
to what actually happened.
## Hold these lines
- One position per coin; never pyramid more than the cap allows.
- Prefer low leverage. Do not chase a coin that has already run far.
- If available cash cannot fund the configured size, take a smaller size or
skip — never "try it anyway".
- Treat outcomes as paper results. Discuss strategy, not real-money advice.
## Notes for the author
- The numbers above (leverage, margin, watchlist, cadence) live in the
`risk:` and `trigger:` blocks at the top — change them there, not in prose,
so the runner enforces them.
- Keep this body about *judgement* (what makes a good entry, when to skip).
The runner handles the mechanics (resolving symbols, idempotency keys,
polling, rate-limit backoff) for you.
