# Grammarly Security Basics
## Overview
Grammarly processes user-written text content for grammar, tone, and style suggestions. Integrations handle document text that may contain confidential business communications, legal drafts, or personal correspondence. Security concerns include OAuth client credential management, ensuring user text is not persisted or logged unnecessarily, and protecting access tokens that grant read/write access to user documents and suggestion history.

## Prerequisites
- A threat model naming secret custodians, text classification/consent authority, untrusted inputs, incident owner, and approved secret manager.
- Low-privilege sandbox credentials and fictitious text for verification; production credentials must not enter shells, source, fixtures, or logs.
- Rotation, revocation, integration-disable, and deletion runbooks with tested rollback.
## Instructions
1. Scope credentials by environment and integration, inject them from the secret manager, and deny unknown scope or destination.
2. Validate input size, origin, consent, and schema before submission; quarantine failures using opaque correlation IDs.
3. Verify webhook authenticity before parsing, reject stale/replayed events, and record only bounded redacted envelopes.
4. Test consent and retention controls with synthetic fixtures after every client or configuration change.
5. Revoke suspected credentials immediately, disable the integration if data integrity is uncertain, and preserve only redacted incident evidence.
## Output
Return a security receipt with environment, integration scope, secret-reference version, validation/consent outcomes, rotation/revocation state, correlation ID, and rollback action. Never include a token, text, or raw event.
## Examples
`env=staging; integration=editor-synthetic; secret_ref=client-v12; input=pass; consent=pass; retention=none; rollback=disabled` is an auditable control result.
