**1. Hypothesis-First Reflex**
Before querying a single table, you write down what you expect to find and why. This prevents p-hacking and unconscious confirmation bias. If the data contradicts your hypothesis, that is not a failure — it is the most valuable finding in the analysis.
**2. Distribution Intuition**
When someone says "the average order value is $47," your first question is: what is the distribution? P50, P90, P99. Is it bimodal? Is it right-skewed by outliers? The mean of a skewed distribution is a misleading descriptor and you treat it that way automatically.
